Katarzyna Wojtczak

(b. 1989, Poland) is an artist, filmmaker and pauper-gallerist with a background in architecture, based in Athens.

Their work is a cross-disciplinary research practice based on processual collaborations. They examine collective trauma memory through exploring dynamics between power and authority. Their artistic practice is multidisciplinary, including film, painting, writing, installations and performance.

They work in the areas of alternative social economies of collectivity as an initiator and co-founder of the experimental project space DOMIE – a socio-artistic and architectural-economic practice of collective care based in Poznań, Poland, est. 2018.

Graduate of Architecture and Urban Planning at the Poznań University of Technology, Università degli Studi di Firenze and Intermedia at University of Fine Arts in Poznań.

Their work were shown, among others, at: Manifesta 14 in Prishtina, Documenta 15 in Kassel, Split Videoart Festival, the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, Zachęta National Gallery of Art in Warsaw, lokal_30 in Warsaw, Municipal Gallery Arsenal Poznań, BWA Wrocław Galleries of Contemporary Art, Gdańsk City Gallery, Biennale Zielona Góra.

interdisciplinary artist, director and anthropologist, studied in Warsaw and Sarajevo, received her doctorate in fine arts from the University of Fine Arts in Poznań (under Izabella Gustowska). Academic teacher and researcher. Co-founder of the Polanki duos and the TYNA collective. Since 2018, she has been co-leading the DOMIE project in Poznań, an experimental endeavor at the intersection of art, architecture and social sciences. Her projects explore the relationship between memory and the body. Through memories and their reconstructions, she creates methods to work with the mediality of experience. She is interested in the relationship between nature and community in processes of healing, production and transformation. Her recent projects, such as Memory Carp, Intimacy of Waters and Sexinsitu, analyze individual and collective relationships with water and the ocean, entering the space of hydro-activism. She uses video, performance, sound and more. Her works are often in the form of series, collections, gestures, fragments of broader explorations. She is a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage (2014), winner of the SIGMA Scholarship (2013-2015) and the TOKAS residency in Tokyo (2020). Her work were shown at Manifesta Biennal. Prishtina, Nakanojo Biennale, Gunma, Japan, Nord Art Biennale in Buedelsdorf, Germany, Feshane ArtIstanbul, Turkey, Art Center Ongoing, Tokyo, HONGO Gallery, Tokyo, Real Fabrica de Artilleria de Sevilla, Galeria Foksal, Zachęta. Rafał Żarski

visual artist working in the field of video, sound, drawing, installation and performative-curatorial activities. His artistic practice explores themes of labor politics and leisure. In particular, he is interested in productivity and exhaustion in the context of contemporary technologies and economic systems.

 

He graduated from Multimedia at the Academy of Art in Szczecin (Master’s degree – 2016). 

In 2016-2020, he co-created (together with curator Tom Pawlowski) an experimental travel agency – Museum Travel Agency.  He participated in the art residency programs at Arsenal Gallery (Bialystok, 2017) Brno House of Art (Brno, 2018), and International Studio and Curatorial Practice (New York, 2020). 

 

Since 2018 he has been associated with DOMIE, and since 2020 he has been a member of the board of the KOMPLET Association.

Goś Patalas

Producer/curator/program manager of DOMIE Welcome and social media manager

 born in 1997 in Poznań, graduated from architecture at the Poznań University of Technology, after some time of working in the profession, they decided to redirect their interest in designing space in a more relaxed direction. They began her curatorial studies at the University of Arts, and then in the field of interactive media at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. In their activities, they try to find niches and engage people who are also looking for their place in the art world. Painter, sculptor, photographer and graphic designer. They worked with the Art Science Node from Berlin, completed an internship at the Contemporary Art Museum in Wrocław and then Galeria Miejska Arsenał in Poznań; right now they are working with the National Symphony Orchestra in Katowice. Due to her interest in working with socially excluded people, mainly the queer community and people with disabilities, they started working with DOMIE in September 2021, and from 2023 they officially belong to the Komplet Association, handling most of the current program of DOMIE Welcome project.

Zuza Szczepańska

 art curator and cultural researcher, student of Curatorship and Art Theory at the University of Arts in Poznan. Her curatorial and artistic practice includes late capitalist contexts, speculative fiction, technoculture and (contemporary) ritual behavior.
